holly-wreathed and wrecked,
rounds the corner, tower bells
burning, clock-faced,
unwound, reworked,
meaningless:

The path of absolution
is minted through
madness, small plates of
it, glass plates of it,
but smooth, bar-top
shiny, leather steps and
creamy table tops.

Kiss, drink, sizzle
in the cup, on the plate.
Dddd-runk on green creme.
Glitter in the carpet, tiled
confusion, a mosaic
of fake flowers
climbs over the lips of the vase.
